What if the leader wants to pick more than 1 or 2 goals?
This is entirely up to you. Our recommendation is to have 2 goals maximum – some coaches (e.g. Dr. Frank Wagner) will typically instruct the leader to select only one goal. The reason is that each goal will include an action plan with somewhere around 3-6 specific behaviors the leader is committed to. A lighthearted way to approach this is to have them pick just one (or two) to start. If, after the first mini-survey, the scores look good and the leader wants to add more to their plate, then you may consider adding more. In our experience, leaders learn by the first mini-survey just how much work goes into each goal and opts to keep their initial commitments as they are.
